2009
On Friday 22nd May 2009, a new era began for the Rising Sun.
Under
new management, the Rising Sun began a transformation with a series
of phased improvements, giving a fresh new look; a sympathetic and
stylish facelift for this tired old lady, creating a modern, welcoming
venue suitable for the 21st Century.
Alongside the familiar beers and spirits you would expect to find
in a traditional pub, we introduced a delicious new range of International
wines, perfect at the end of a busy day.
In June 2009, we began to serve our now famous Sunday roast, followed
in September by great value evening food throughout the week.
The autumn also saw the introduction of regular events such as our
charity quiz night to support the Shooting Star Children's Hospice
as well as Friday and Saturday entertainment.
In December 2009, we were delighted to present Eighties pop sensation
Hazell Dean and ended the year with a sell out New Year's Eve Masked
Ball.
2010
In 2010, we
undertook phase II of our planned make-over, which truly brought
the pub to life, making this a great place to bring friends and
loved ones to enjoy a drink, good food and friendly service in pleasant
surroundings.
During the summer, with were an integral part of the first Hampton
Hill Summer Festival, offering a great value barbecue and live music
to keep the crowds entertained.
Later in the year, we introduced a delicious new premium drinks
range, including Peroni and San Miguel lagers on draught, as well
as Aspall's Cyder.
Continuing our work with the Shooting Star Children's Hospice, our
fundraising efforts raised a total of £1661.00.
We ended the year by becoming an official Harlequins Supporter Network
pub, creating a home from home for Quins fans!
2011
We started
the year with a hugely successful charity event for Help For Heroes,
raising a fantastic £2,059.00, followed by a fantastic St.
Patrick's Day celebration in March.
In April, we celebrated
the Royal Wedding and we proudly became the official "pub of
choice" for the Hampton Hill Cricket Club, providing the players
with traditional cricket teas thoroughout the 2011 season and in
return welcoming their members for pre and post refreshments at
the pub. This deal was arranged following the devastating fire that
destroyed their clubhouse in October 2010. The HHCC Phoenix Fund
became our official "good cause" for the year, with £1,193.00
raised during 2011.
In the Autumn,
we welcomed our regulars to enjoy a series of special "Rugby
Breakfasts" during the Rugby World Cup, and following the conversion
of out-houses to the rear of the pub, we proudly opened our brand
new "Garden Bar" to the public for the first time on Friday
25th November, as part of the 2011 Hampton Hill Christmas Parade
celebrations.
2012
We are delighted
to confirm that our first achievement of 2012 is the official sponsorship
of Twickenham RFC for the second half of the 2011 / 2012 season!
We look forward to developing a great relationship with Club throughout
the year.
Looking forward
to the rest of the patriotic year ahead, we plan to continue building
upon the strong community links we have established over the past
3 years, striving to make the Rising Sun the pub of choice for the
residents of the surrounding areal.
