raised for Good Causes since May 2009 |
Since 2009,
the Rising Sun has developed strong links within the local community
and has raised thousands of pounds for local and national good
causes through charity fundraisers and sponsorship. We currently
have connections with four local sports clubs, ensuring that local
people of all ages can enjoy the community hub that the Rising
Sun has now become!

Macmillan
Cancer Support - £8,149.00
Good Cause of the Year 2012 / 2013
One in three
of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest thing most of
us will ever face. If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer,
or a loved one has, you’ll want a team of people in your
corner supporting you every step of the way. Macmillan Cancer
Support provide practical, medical and financial support and push
for better cancer care. The Rising Sun dedicates it's fundraising
to memory of two very special friends, Mark Grainger (aged 41)
and Stephen Fothergill (aged 38). Also

Hampton
Hill Cricket Club - £3,069.00
Sponsored 2011 & 2012 Seasons
Based in Bushy
Park, Hampton Hill Cricket Club was founded in 1855 and recently
celebrated 150 years in 2005. In 2010, HHCC received a devastating
blow when fire completely destroyed their clubhouse. The club
quickly came up with plans to rebuild the clubhouse andthe HHCC
Phoenix Fund was formed.
Immediately
after the fire, the Rising Sun offered to host the club in the
absence of a clubhouse and the pub became the home of HHCC throughout
the 2011 & 2012 seasons. The Rising Sun provided sponsorship
in the form of complimentary cricket teas and fundraising at our
weekly quiz night in 2011 and shirt sponsorship in 2012. |

Twickenham

Twickenham
RFC is thought to be the 11th oldest surviving rugby club in the
world, and one of a handful of rugby clubs which can trace its
heritage back to the formative years of rugby. As far back, in
fact, as 1867. Nowadays with a brand new clubhouse, league success,
and teams at all levels, Twickenham rugby club is a thriving community
club and the Rising Sun to proud to be sponsoring the Club this
season. |

Teddington
RFC is a successful, inclusive rugby club, run for and by the
people of Teddington, Middlesex and surrounding areas. Based
in Bushy Park, hence the "Antlers" cry of our supporters,
the club run a range of men's, women's, junior and mini's sides.

Good Cause - Summer 2012
Hampton Hill
has a strong family presence and as such, the Rising Sun are delighted
to raising funds for Hampton Hill Junior School through our weekly
quiz night throughout Summer 2012. The first school opened in
1851, transferring to its current site in 1928. Through the dedicated
hard work and determination of the school's staff, parents and
governors, the school is one the most highly respected schools
in the area.

Comedy Night - 8 May 2012
The Greenwood
Centre, located in School Road, Hampton Hill is a well-equipped
and affordable venue for community and support groups, counsellors
and therapists. Widely used for educational, social, recreational
and therapeutic activities.
Th Rising
Sun and "Stand Up & Laugh" donated a percentage
of the ticket price from one of our comedy nights to The Greenwood
Centre, plus additional donations.

Help
for Heroes - £2,059.00
Fundraising night
Help for Heroes
was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire
to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan
and Iraq. The message of the charity is simple: We are strictly
non political and non critical; we simply want to help.
The Rising
Sun was delighted to be a part of the Great British Pub Tour by
crooner Frankie Martin. Raising over £2K at our event, Frankie
went on to raise over £140K for the cause.

2018 "OUT-100" Campaign - £100.00

Following
the phenomenal success of London 2012 and the recent successful
bids for the World Athletics and Paralympic World Athletic Championships
in 2017, our great city is now bidding to host another great sporting
event - The Gay Games. Open to all, regardless of sexual orientation,
age or ability, The Gay Games attracts over 12,000 participants
from 70 nations, making it the largest sporting event in the world!
If successful, the Gay Games will take place at the 2012 Olympic
Park. By 100 people donating £100 to the OUT-100 Campaign,

Shooting
Star Children's Hospice - £2,541.00

Under the
leadership of Vernon Watts, the Rising Sun proudly raised money
for the Shooting Star Children's Hospice for the first two years
of our fundraising campaign. The aim of SSCH is to make every
day count for children and teenagers with life-limiting conditions
- and their families. |

ICR
Everyman Campaign - £900.00
Sponsored Walk 2009
Everyman is
an appeal set up by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) to
raise money for its research into prostate and testicular cancer.
In May 2009, Rising Sun Landlord Neil Pyper completed a sponsored
walk across London, from West Ham to Twickenham, a distance of
some 18 miles and raised £900.00 for this worthy cause. |

Hampton
Hill Traders' Association
Member since 2010
The Traders'
Association has existed in Hampton Hill in one form or another
for over 40 years. It works closely with all the businesses on
the High Street and the surrounding area, and liaises with the
residents via the Hampton Hill Association.
The local
police have acknowledged that Hampton Hill is a very low crime
area but are working hard to ensure it stays this way and have
recently launched a PubWatch scheme in the area and are currently
implementing a ShopWatch radio scheme.

Harlequins
Rugby
Official Greene King IPA Harlequins Rugby Supporters Pub
Hampton Hill
is located just 2 miles away from Twickenham, the home of England
Rugby and the mighty Harlequins! The Rising Sun became an official
Greene King Rugby Supporters Pub for both the England team and
the Harlequins in 2010 are as such we host regular screenings
for local rugby fans.
